EYEBROWS

Advanced permanent makeup techniques can shape or reshape brows, fill in empty/sparse areas, thicken, lengthen, or directly shape brows that have lost all their hair.

MICROBLADING

It is a form of semi-permanent makeup application where hair strokes are manually drawn on the eyebrows. The pigment is implanted in the superficial layer of the dermis (skin) and usually lasts from 1 to 3 years. Not recommended for very oily skin types as the hair strokes will eventually blend over time.

Microblading is a technique used to tattoo the eyebrows, which consists of a combination of a handheld pen and a blade with tiny (micro) needles on one end. As the blade is dipped into the pigment, these needles apply color to the skin in hand-drawn strokes that mimic brow hair. The objective is to fill in the gaps with brushstrokes of pigment so that the shape of the eyebrow is full and enhances the look.

NANO EYEBROWS

Hair strokes made with a machine instead of a manual tool, to implant the pigment more consistently into the brow skin, for longer lasting results. Good results for oily skin.

POWDER EYEBROWS

A digital machine is used to implant pigment into the skin giving it a soft, powdery makeup look. Ideal for oily or aged skin or with little natural hair. This eyebrow treatment usually lasts longer than microblading, from 2 to 5 years.

OMBRÉ EYEBROWS

Similar to powder brows, but in a gradient fashion: darker at the tails to progressively lighter towards the head of the brow.

COMBO BROWS

Also known as 3D/4D brows or hybrid brows – incorporates both shading and hair-tracing methods to create the most defined look. The technique can be performed by hand or with a digital machine.

EYEBROW CORRECTION

This technique is applicable for clients who have had previous eyebrow pigmentation/tattoos done (by another artist) and want an update or correction of their shape and/or color. Depending on the saturation of previous work done, some limitations may apply or removal may be warranted first. Check out and send close-up photos of your eyebrows to tumicroart@gmail.com so I can advise you further.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS ADVANCED PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Permanent, semi-permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing and micropigmentation are names for the same thing: incorporation of pigment into the papillary dermis by means of a specific manual or electric tool. The techniques used are similar to those of tattooing, but at the same time, they differ in gentle properties in terms of their depth of application to the skin, the type of pigment and their temporary presence, which in the future allows you to change the shape, technique and color of the eyebrows. While tattoo techniques and their pigments are permanently deposited deep in the skin and over time change their color greatly to blue, gray and even purple.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

Semi-permanent pigments will naturally fade over time. Many factors affect the life of the pigment, including lifestyle, sun exposure, skin type, hormones, medications, color choice, and aftercare. Results typically last 1-3 years, but most clients will prefer a touch-up every 1-2 years to refresh the color and shape of the brows. Oilier skin types tend to fade faster than drier skin types. Frequent smokers or those with iron deficiency anemia may have results that fade sooner. Results vary with each person.

ARE EYEBROW TATTOOS PAINFUL?

Discomfort levels vary depending on each individual’s pain threshold and sensitivity, but the sensation can be compared to a light scratch. To ensure maximum comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied before and during treatment. Keep in mind that if you are in your menstrual cycle, you may be more sensitive to pain. Sleep, stress, and caffeine can also influence pain sensitivity.

WHAT IS THE TATTOO HEALING PROCESS?

Slight redness and slight swelling immediately after the procedure will subside within 24 hours. The healing time is approximately 10 days for the upper layers of the skin, during which it will be necessary to apply a healing cream, avoid sweating and water and sun treatments. Initially, after the procedure, the eyebrows will be slightly darker and thicker than the final result after complete healing; It is important to understand that the eyebrows will become 10-15% thinner and lighter. Within a month, the area and deeper layers of the skin will fully heal and reveal their true shape and color. There may be small areas of healing between the first and second visits; this is the purpose of your corrective or “final” visit, which can be recorded at least 40 days after initial treatment. In some cases, clients may require a third appointment to achieve their desired outcome.

HOW TO Prepare for your eyebrow treatment?

You will get much better results if you prepare your skin for your Permanent Makeup procedure. The area must be healthy, strong, not sensitive and not irritated.

Anticoagulants lengthen the time it takes for blood to clot. Anti-platelet drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen prevent the blood from clotting, causing the treatment area to bleed more, the pigment will be pushed out of the skin, leading to the risk of overworking the skin and less comfortable.

Do not drink alcohol 24 – 48 hours before your tattoo
Do not drink coffee before your procedure
Do not take any aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
Avoid oily fish, garlic, and herbal teas to prevent blood clotting.

  • If necessary consult your GP if you are taking any medication that may cause blood thinning *
Do not pluck, wax, thread or dye your brows until 3 days before your brow treatment.
    Don’t have a sunburned face.
Do not have any type of facial/peeling 2 weeks before treatment.
Discontinue vitamin A/retinol products one month prior to treatment (these treatments thin the skin considerably).
Do not exercise on the day of the procedure (excess oil in the skin can prevent pigment from being retained).
Do not have Botox 3 weeks prior (may affect symmetry).
    To minimize discomfort:
Try to get a good night’s sleep before your treatment, this will help you relax and make the treatment more comfortable.
Drink plenty of water, before and during the session, this allows the skin to accept the ink more easily, without diluting the blood.
    Up to date:
Eat well but not in excess before the treatment, this increases your resistance since treatments such as Permanent Makeup burn a lot of calories.
Other things to consider: Come to the treatment without makeup.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING AN EYEBROW TREATMENT?

After the consultation, where the client’s expectations are discussed, a facial examination is performed, photos are taken and a possible allergy test is taken, a day is chosen for the procedure. Also, the client is provided to fill in the necessary documents at home.
On the day of the procedure:
The area is cleaned and peeled. (10 min.)
The design is drawn and confirmed by the client. (20 – 40 min.)
Application and waiting for the action of anesthesia in the form of a cream (30 min.)
Performing the procedure (approximately 1.30-2 hours), after which the work is shown to the client and after his approval, a pigment mask is applied to the area for 20 minutes. Washes off.
Photographing the area.

  • Sometimes additional time is required (re-application of anesthesia, painting details, etc.) It is recommended to free yourself for at least 4 hours on this day so that the master can work without haste, carefully following the entire sequence of the procedure.
